Used Dump Truck Asking-Price Benchmark

Observed 2026-09-18. Sample: 423 priced listings.

This benchmark compares advertised asking prices across the trucks currently offered on Simple Lend Marketplace. It describes this marketplace's inventory at the observation time. It is not a national market index, a valuation of a particular truck, or a record of completed sales.

The median asking price for 2020-and-newer trucks is 2.50 times the median for trucks built before 2005 in this sample.

How we calculate it

We include active listings with a positive advertised price and exclude trucks marked Sold. We deduplicate by a valid vehicle identification number, falling back to the listing SKU or inventory identifier where a VIN is unavailable. Each remaining listing contributes one price. The median is the middle price after sorting; for an even number of prices it is the average of the two middle values. Listings without a usable price are excluded, rather than counted as zero.

How to use the comparison

Model year alone does not explain a truck's price. Axle configuration, mileage, condition, emissions equipment, location and the seller's expectations can all differ between these groups. A change in the trucks listed can move a median even when no seller changes a price. Compare the actual specifications and request current information before making an offer. The advertised figure is not an all-in acquisition budget: transport, taxes, registration and any work identified during an independent inspection need separate consideration.

History starts with observations

Monthly snapshots begin in September 2026. We do not reconstruct earlier prices from bulk imports or infer sale dates from record-update timestamps. Until a useful series exists, this remains a cross-sectional benchmark. Asking prices are not transaction prices, and no days-on-market claim is made here.
